System Maps

The first maps are ones that are made to look like the current T map. These are the first maps I made and the inspiration for this website. There are a few errors in each as I usually made these at 1 in the morning. I don’t plan on fixing them so don’t bother pointing them out. I am going to keep them the way they are to see how I progress in my map making skills.

This is a MBTA future system map with all extensions from the previous maps but expands the Urban Ring to Logan Airport, City Point in South Boston, and to UMass Boston in Dorchester.

This is a MBTA future system map which shows every extension listed in the Project for Mass Transit report in 2003, when this was made. Along with the extensions from the previous maps this map includes the Orange Line to Reading, Needham, and Route 128, the Green Line to Needham, the Blue Line to Salem, and the Red Line to Route 128 in Lexington.

Overlays

These are the second types of maps I made which are overlays of various different expansion plans on a satellite image of metro Boston. I call these the “uber” maps since they show the entire area with all lines. Because these images are so large I only have smaller sized versions here. You can see the full size on my Flickr page.
